Quick answers to common questions about IISE SJSU.

Do I need to be an ISE major to join? 

No. IISE is open to all majors and class years. 

How do I become a member? 

Fill out the interest form each semester, join our Discord, and start attending events. 

Where can I find updates about events? 

Check your email, Instagram (@sjsu_iise), Taplink, and our Discord server. 

Is there a membership fee? 

General membership is free. You can choose to become a national paid member for additional perks. 

What do paid members get access to? 

Conference discounts, priority registration for certain events, scholarship eligibility, and clubroom access. 

What is the clubroom access and how do I get it? 

Paid members can request access to the IISE clubroom (ENGR 208). Door codes are shared via email once you send the receipt with iisechapter806@gmail.com. 

How do I get involved in a committee? 

Visit the Committee page and fill out the interest form or talk to an officer. 

How do I become an officer? 

Officer applications typically open in early April. Watch your email and Discord for announcements. 

Do I need experience to join a committee or attend events? 

No experience is required. Committee involvement is encouraged if you want to take on a more active role.
